A Message From Our Founder

The RANF story validates the miracle of recovery and instills hope for a better tomorrow. My journey started as a kid getting high and drunk that eventually led to an adult with a broken human spirit. I did not even know that recovery existed; much less was achievable. However, with the help of some very special people, I discovered a new life and new horizons.

After working through the struggles of early recovery, which included re-entering the job market, living in recovery housing, and engaging in volunteer service work, I came to one definite conclusion.

Essentially, every roadblock, pitfall, personal tragedy, and presumed liability can be converted into an asset in recovery. Because every obstacle is a character-building exercise, an opportunity for growth, the wisdom gained from our experiences can be shared to benefit others.

In fact, this revelation motivated me to obtain a second Master's degree and become a licensed clinician. I had the gift of working with fellow addicts for many years until I, beyond belief, earned my Ph.D. and received an appointment from the President of the United States to help resolve the Nation's Opioid Crisis.

It is my personal experience clinical experience that led me to create RANF. I and others involved with RANF have seen firsthand the gaps and why 89% of those struggling have barriers to treatment. We collectively have a deep desire to fix the problem and close that gap.

RANF benefits from an extremely special, compassionate, and accomplished Board of Directors and Advisory Board. Individuals from various disciplines have dedicated their time and expertise to accomplish the RANF goal of saving lives. This expertise and shared goal, vision, and understanding of addiction set RANF apart. Our purpose is to fund treatment through a continuum of care at ethical and holistic based treatment centers.

Our goal is to use these partnerships and funding to improve the quality and quantity of care in this Nation. As such, we want people in need to overcome barriers to access treatment and then be afforded the opportunity to access the vital recovery supports to help ensure success. We envision RANF and our network to be one where family members can entrust their loved ones.

My journey has led me here – please join our mission: believe in the miracle of recovery, remove barriers to treatment for all those suffering, knowing as addicts heal and recover, communities will improve, and the deaths will end.

Sincerely,

Dr. Art Kleinshcmidt
