With more than 100,000 overdose deaths already in 2021, it is clear the time to act is now. Recovery for America Now Foundation is here to close the treatment gap and solve this nationwide problem.

This chart illustrates the number of overdose deaths
dating back to the 1980’s.

Due to a gap in treatment, nearly 90% of Americans with a severe substance use disorder do not receive the treatment they need. In addition, over 90% of Americans suffering from a co-occuring disorder of both mental illness and a substance use disorder are precluded from adequate service.

WHAT IS THE
TREATMENT GAP?

The “Treatment Gap” is the difference between those needing services and those who have actually received services.

Recovery for America Now was founded to become the Nation’s leading non-profit expressly designed to make treatment more accessible for all people.

  • In 2019, 20.4 million Americans met diagnostic criteria for Substance Use Disorder, 89.7% did not receive treatment.

  • 13 million Americans met diagnostic criteria for Serious Mental Illness in 2019, 34.5% did not receive the necessary treatment.

  • 9.5 million Americans met diagnostic criteria for Co-occurring Disorder of Serious Mental Illness and Substance Use Disorder and 90% of those individuals did not receive treatment.

We are committed to saving lives, rebuilding families, and affording people the opportunity to regain their freedom and experience a life of joy in recovery.

In other words, we believe the Miracle of Recovery should be available to all. Our foundation was born out of our belief that all human beings possess intrinsic value, and that nobody is too sick to recover.

Approximately 30 million Americans and their loved ones remain trapped in an endless cycle of despair and looming death and we must all do our part to help.
